Huangzhi Xiang refers to the natural aroma of gardenia flowers. Huangzhi Xiang Dancong is one of the highly fragrant types of Fenghuang Dancong. In addition to the common qualities of beautiful appearance, mellow taste, freshness, and long-lasting infusion, it has a bright orange-yellow color, clear and transparent soup, a sharp and long-lasting aroma, and a distinct gardenia flower fragrance that is elegant and comfortable. Fenghuang Dancong is a collective term for numerous excellent individual tea trees, which have been passed down through generations and are harvested and processed individually to become Fenghuang Dancong tea. Huangzhi Xiang Dancong is one of the highly fragrant types of Dancong. Local tea farmers refer to outstanding individual tea trees with a gardenia flower fragrance as Huangzhi Xiang Dancong, so it refers to a type of aroma.

The main characteristics of Fenghuang Dancong tea are its ability to withstand multiple brews, strong aftertaste, and intense fragrance. It is considered a good tea if it still has a lingering aroma after seven brews, but Fenghuang Dancong tea can be brewed for over 10 times and still maintain its quality. 

More About Guangdong oolong Tea

Oolong tea, a unique type of tea in China, has a long history and a great reputation both domestically and internationally. It originates from Fujian, Guangdong, and Taiwan. In Guangdong, oolong tea is mainly produced in the eastern regions of Chao'an, Raoping, Fengshun, Jiaoling, Pingyuan, Jiedong, Jiexi, Puning, Chenghai, and Meizhou, as well as in Dongguan. Some of the most well-known products include Phoenix Narcissus, Phoenix Dancong, Lingtou Dancong, Raoping Color Variety, Shiguping Oolong, Daye Qilan, and Xingning Qilan. A Large Tea Forest On The Phoenix Mountain

Phoenix Mountain, located in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, is a large mountain range spanning hundreds of miles and borders the cities of Chaozhou and Meizhou. The She ethnic group recognizes Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou as their ancestral home. The main peak, Fenghuangji, is not only the highest peak in the Chaoshan region (which includes the cities of Chaozhou, Shantou, and Jieyang), but also the highest peak in the eastern part of Guangdong Province (the highest peak in Meizhou is Tunggufeng). Legend has it that a long time ago, a golden phoenix laid two eggs in the nest on this mountain. These eggs hatched into two phoenix chicks, who, after practicing and achieving enlightenment, transformed into two beautiful girls. They did good deeds and brought peace and prosperity to the human world. That year, when there was heavy rain and flooding in Beilong Village, they cried out and the water receded. In Xipu Village, when there was a drought and the villagers couldn't plant their crops, the girls flew into the sky and brought rain, allowing the villagers to plant their crops in a few days. In Nanzhou Village, when there was an epidemic, the girls transformed into medicine sellers and helped cure the people. Wherever there was a disaster, these two phoenixes would appear. Whenever they appeared, the people would feel safe and at peace. Shortly after, the miraculous stories of the phoenixes in this area spread quickly, and the locals named the mountain "Phoenix Mountain."

Wudong Mountain

Wudong Mountain is the second highest peak of Phoenix Mountain, with an altitude of 1391 meters. The Tianchi, located on the west side of the summit, is the most charming spot in the Phoenix Mountain Scenic Area. 

It is a volcanic crater, covering an area of about 40,000 square meters (60 mu), with springs constantly rushing out. During calm weather, the surface of the pool is as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the beautiful scenery of green mountains, blue sky, and white clouds. The pool is home to rare and precious creatures such as the four-legged fish (also known as the salamander, a type of amphibian), softshell snails, various frogs, and high-altitude butterflies. 

In summer, the mountain is cool and refreshing, and the Tianchi is sparkling with waves. In winter, the water is bone-chillingly cold, and during severe cold, the surface of the pool can even be covered with several inches of ice. Sometimes, snowflakes can also be seen floating down from the sky, resembling the scenery of northern winters. It truly is a unique sight in eastern Guangdong. 

Wudong Dancong tea is produced in Wudong Mountain in Fenghuang Town, Chao'an, Guangdong Province. It belongs to the category of oolong tea. The Wudong Mountain area is close to the East China Sea, with tea plantations at an altitude of over 1000 meters. The excellent natural environment is beneficial for the growth of tea trees and the formation of polyphenols and aromatic substances. Due to the 900-year history of growing narcissus tea trees and making tea in the Wudong region, the traditional tea farmers of Wudong Mountain have rich experience in tea making. There are many old tea trees in Wudong Mountain, with over 3,000 trees still surviving for over 200 years. Fenghuang Dancong tea is famous all over the world and is one of the top three oolong teas in China. Among them, Wudong Dancong tea is also considered high quality variety of Fenghuang Dancong tea and is highly sought after by tea lovers.
